About Loloma

A natural wonderland in the South Pacific

With roots as a historical copra (coconut) plantation, Loloma is a vast 1,528-acre natural wonderland tucked away in the South Pacific on the island of Vanua Levu, Fiji. The property is a stunning tropical oasis brimming with lush rainforest, tranquil waters and untouched beauty.

Family owned for 30 years, the property is fee simple and free of encumbrances with major entitlements secured. Loloma's abundant and diverse natural features lend themselves well to destination resort development, though the property may be kept as a private estate for the ultimate tropical getaway.

One of the largest freehold estates on Vanua Levu, an exceedingly rare opportunity given that more than 90 percent of all land in Fiji is under government control or subject to long-term leases.

The Estate

Seven natural wonders, one property

From a 1,000-acre rainforest to 2.2 kilometers of white sand, landforms range from low-lying beach to steep mountain peaks. A complete experience in one incredible location.

Tropical Rainforest

A dense 1000-acre rainforest is habitat to towering hardwood trees and a myriad of tropical plant and bird species. Largely preserved in its natural state, it is the ideal backdrop for a small, secluded treehouse enclave nestled within the high-reaching branches of the Vesi trees, alive with chirping birds and gurgling creeks.

Nature Pools & Falls

In the depths of the rainforest, gushing waterfalls overflow into stunning freshwater pools formed by natural rock. Emanating from a private watershed, the crisp, clear water is free from external contamination or water rights issues. Trek to a refreshing swimming hole, a nature campsite, a meditation spot or a breathtaking vista point.

Beach Frontage

With a 2.2-kilometer stretch of beach frontage, Loloma is the only location with any significant white sand in the entire Buca Bay area. Beachside accommodations are proposed for this gently sloping foreshore, where intimate traditional-style bures open straight onto powder-white sand and swaying coconut trees.

Private Island

Just yards off the beach sits a one-acre private island adorned by caves, white-sand beach and a shallow underwater sandbar. It is the prospective setting for a restaurant with fresh, regional cuisine as spectacular as the view: play castaway for the day, then stay for a bright afternoon lunch or a romantic sunset dinner.

Deep Water Channel

Fronting the shoreline is a calm deep-water channel with ideal conditions for marina development. Sheltered by islands and mountain peaks, Buca Bay yields the placid waters desired for yacht harboring, diving, paddleboarding, jet skiing and fishing. The planned 108-slip floating marina includes a yacht club, boardwalk and rentals.

Traditional Architecture

Flanked by traditional Fijian villages in rural Buca Bay, the property is deeply rooted in culture and history. Open, airy bures are distinguished by thatched roofs, high ceilings, exposed beams and pole construction. The architectural style will honor traditional Fijian techniques while integrating contemporary taste and comforts.

Breathtaking Views

The hotel concept is envisioned in a terraced design that flaunts stunning views at every level, with traditional bure-style rooms arranged along the natural contours of the land. Top tiers command a panoramic view over tranquil Buca Bay while the lowest rests beachside, just steps from the water.
